Washington Sno-Park Permit
A valid Sno-Park permit must be displayed in the windshield of your vehicle when parking in designated Sno-Park areas throughout Washington.
More than 50 Sno-Parks have trails for non-motorized winter activities such as cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Revenue from the sale of Sno-Park permits covers the cost of clearing the parking lots and grooming of certain trails.
There are two types of non-motorized Sno-Park permits: one for areas with ungroomed trails and a special add-on sticker for trails that are groomed frequently. There are about 7 or 8 Sno-Parks where the trails are groomed two or three times a week. Check the official Sno-Park website for locations and conditions.
A seasonal Sno-Park permit for ungroomed areas costs about $20. An additional $20 is charged for the special sticker for that must be attached to the Sno-Park permit when parked at areas with groomed trails. A one-day permit costs $8 and is good for groomed trails.
Snow park passes issued by the states of Oregon, California and Idaho are honored in Washington except that vehicles with Washington licence plates must have Washington Sno-Park permits. Washington Sno-Park passes are valid in Oregon, California and Idaho snow park areas.
Sno-Park permits can be purchased at Washington state park regional offices, at more than 100 resorts and retail outlets as well as by mail and online.
See the Washington Sno-Parks website for more information.
