Trails: Telemark Resort grooms 65 km (39 miles) of trails for cross-country skiing (skate and classic). Except for a few Easy loops, the majority of the trails are rated More Difficult and Most Difficult. The trails connect to the famous Birkebeiner Trail, site of the annual American Birkebeiner ski marathon with over 8,000 participants. To the west of the resort the North End Ski Club grooms 15 km of trails to provide access to the Birkebeiner Trail. During the Birkie the Kortaloppet offers a 22 km alternative, starting and finishing at Telemark Resort. Trail fees: At Telemark: XC skiing $12, snowshoeing $3 (winter 2009-10). The North End and Birkebeiner trails require a parking pass, $10/car/day or $50/season, which can be purchased at deposit boxes at the trailhead.
