Trails: There are hundreds of miles of trails available for backcountry skiing. Trails at Old Faithful and Mammoth Hot Springs are the most popular. Remember to check avalanche conditions before venturing into mountainous backcountry terrain and follow safety precautions. Yellowstone Alpen Guides offers guided tours in the park.

Location of trails: From December to early March the Old Faithful area is only accessible by snowcoach or snowmobile from West Yellowstone. Mammoth is accessible by car south of Gardiner, MT.
