Michigan is one of the big three cross-country ski regions in the midwestern USA with over 100 trail systems and more than two thousand kilometers of groomed trails. Many of the trail networks are run on a not-for-profit basis. Trails are concentrated on the Upper Peninsula and the northern half of the Lower Peninsula.
