Many of New York's 50-plus cross-country ski areas are located in the Adirondacks and Catskills. Tug Hill Plateau (areas #17 to 21) has one of the highest snowfalls in the east. New Jersey has three ski centers (#57 to 59) all located within easy driving distances of New York city.
