South Dakota has half a dozen cross-country ski trail systems located throughout the Black Hills. The only commercial center in the state is located in Canton.

XC Skiing Resources

Several of North Dakota's state parks have cross-country ski trails. Two with about 10 miles groomed are Cross Ranch (Sanger) and Lake Metigoshe (Bottineau). Theodore Roosevelt National Park also has trails.

Some of Nebraska's state parks also have cross-country ski trails.
