A Note About the Listings

This list of cross-country ski areas is n not complete. Due to space and time limitations there are many small areas that could not be included. In most cases, the ski areas were chosen with the following criteria in mind:

  • the trails have a total length of at least 10 km and those trails are:
  • officially designated as cross-country ski trails
  • rated according to level of difficulty
  • indicated on a map that is readily available to users of the trails.

Information on the cross-country ski areas was gathered in the summer of 1997 and so may be out of date. Always call ahead before visiting a ski area to make certain that it is in operation. Any information that you can contribute about any ski area would be much appreciated--just fill out a ski area information on any of the regional pages.
