Vermont's Green Mountains make an ideal setting for most of the state's 40-plus cross-country ski centers. There is a choice of resort towns such as Stowe and the more typical New England towns such as Woodstock.

The Catamount Trail runs for over 250 miles from the Massachusetts border to Canada. It is ungroomed except for where it connects to the several nordic centers along its route.
