Ski Train Anchorage Nordic Ski Club of Anchorage organizes a train ride to Curry (4 hours each way) where you can go backcountry touring and snowshoeing for the day, $80 (2008).

Kachemak Marathon Ski Homer Choice of 25 or 40 km challenging courses, organized by Kachemak Nordic Ski Club, $20-$50 (2009).

Buckwheat Classic Skagway Choice of 10, 25 or 50 km distances on the historic "Trail of ‘98" along the White Pass & Yukon Railway, $50 (2007) includes breakfast and dinner.
Teton Ridge Classic Driggs
Three courses (5, 14, and 28 km) are set on the Teton Ridge Ranch, a private estate that opens its trails to the public only for this event, $20-$50 (2010) includes lunch

Buderus Invitational High School Citizen's Race Chemult 5 km
Time trials with individual 30-second interval starts, for classic technique only. Hosted by Central Oregon Nordic Club. Open to any high school age skier in the Western states. Awards categories Junior/Senior and Freshman/Sophomore. No eligibility requirements. Pre-registration required.
Mid Mar
John Craig Memorial Wilderness Ski & Tour McKenzie Pass Originated in 1934 and held annually since 1972, the tour commemorates a pioneer mail carrier who perished in the winter of 1877. There's a choice of a 30 km wilderness ski or a shorter tour along the road. The longer tour traverses the Cascade Mountains just west of Sisters, Oregon, offering views of the Three Sisters, lava fields, and glimpses of Mt. Hood, Mt. Jefferson, and Mt. Washington. Entry fee: $50 (2008) include snacks and a post-tour meal.
