The longest running citizen's xc race in California, the two day event includes an 18 km classic, downhill telemark and 38 km freestyle events, prize for best costume, hosted by Yosemite XC Ski School at Badger Pass, $30/$40 (2009)
Early Mar The Great Ski Race Spooner Lake
Inaugurated in 1976, 30 km (18-mile) race from Tahoe Cross Country Ski Area to the town of Truckee, groomed for classic and freestyle, proceeds to fund the Tahoe Nordic Search & Rescue Team, $45/$65 (2009) includes t-shirt and lunch
Early Mar Spooner Lake Marathon 21/42k  Spooner Lake
Early Mar The Great Ski Race Tahoe to Truckee
Held for over 30 years, the 30 km (18-mile) Freestyle race challenges skiers to 1,200 feet of climb in the first 7 miles, $45-$65 (2009) includes lunch and T-shirt, proceeds in support of Tahoe Nordic Search & Rescue Team
