Name of XC Area: Pajarito Mountain Nordic Area
Area id: NM6
Times that I skied there: Several
Date that I last skied there: Dec, 2001
Sections skied: All
Trail marking: Very good
Trail maintenance: Very good
Rating: 4 stars
Favourite trails: Meadow Loop, Dave's Dogleg, TJ's Detour, Lower Road
What I liked: Scenery in upper meadow is spectacular, serenity in the woods is very therapeutic. Trails are very interesting and fun to ski.
What I disliked: Recent winters have been inconsistent with the snow. Last year was great (00-01), but so far this year (01-02) is a bit thin.
Comments: All amenities are at the alpine ski area at the beginning of the trail system.

Skiing only is the rule on marked trails, but snowshoeing and dogs are allowed on the Canada Bonita Lower Road up to the meadow and into the Jemez backcountry. Trails are built and maintained by the Los Alamos Nordic Ski Club.

Accomodations are available in nearby Los Alamos, or in Espanola (30 minutes), Santa Fe (45 minutes), or rural Jemez Springs (45 minutes).
